Tuesday 2/18

Took this handsome hunk to his 4 month checkup! More on that later. :)

Wednesday 2/19

We stayed home from mops so that Addie could have one more day to recover. I did my best to keep these two engaged allllll day with no outings. They LOVE play do time!

Thursday 2/20

We played outside! The weather was gorgeous. And although Daddy and Grayson had the stomach bug, the girls and I jumped our hearts out on the trampoline after school.

Friday 2/21

I love watching Emmie play baby dolls. She's a sweet little mommy. She was putting her baby to bed and saying "night night baby!"

We have a very low key weekend planned which is just what the doctor ordered after this crazzzzy week!! Xoxo

Grayson's First Trip to Urgent Care

We have officially had our first scary sickness with our baby boy. The last few days he has had the crud. Runny nose, coughing, sneezing, watery eyes and a low grade fever. I was trying to just let it run its course but then last night after the girls were in bed his Daddy was holding him and he started wheezing. We decided to call the on call nurse at our pediatrics office and talk to her. Her advice was to take him in right away because of concern for the flu. We loaded up and took him to a new pediatric urgent care right down the street. We arrived at 9 pm and just had the best experience. They tested him for the flu and rsv. The RSV test came back positive. Since this is a viral illness there is nothing that can be done other than fluids, suction, and rest. They did use a machine that I've never seen to suck him out and get all the crud loose that's been choking him up. It was a crazy contraption that made a very loud rumbling sound, and he screamed the entire time. After they were finished, he turned white as a ghost and they rushed him to the room where the pulse ox test was to check his oxygen level. All was fine, but he sure gave me a scare. We got back home and although I've been doing well putting him in his room, I put his bassinet right next to me for the night. He gets so choked up on his drainage that he starts gagging and gives us a heart attack!

As soon as we got him settled and back to sleep Emmie woke up crying. We quickly discovered that she had vomited in her bed and all over herself. After a quick bath and bed change we had her back down in about 30 minutes. The rest of the night was a pattern of up...down..up...down with all three kiddos. I felt a little like a jack in the box by morning. Addie complained of a headache in the night but seemed totally fine this morning so off to school she went for her Valentines Day Party looking so sassy and cute.

Emmie has been in pretty good spirits as long as she has ibuprofen in her. Sweet little girl...

I kept Emmie home with us and Daddy stayed home until lunch time to help out which was wonderful! My friend Lindsey has a little girl in Addie's class and she agreed to pretend to be her mommy for the party which was so sweet. She sent these pictures from school.

Another friend picked up Addie from school and took her home with her to play for the afternoon. Times like these remind me of how blessed I am that my kids are overall pretty healthy. I am also humbled at a God who is so good and sends helpers to me during these times to help us get through the day. My friend Gina just called to say she's bringing dinner tonight! Wow.

I lift my eyes unto the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth. Psalm 121:1

Grayson’s Nursery

We finally finished Grayson’s nursery!  I am so excited about how it turned out! We have a boy!  We have a blue nursery!  Still can’t believe it! :)  We had a really fun time decorating and picking out the perfect things for his vintage airplane theme.  Just to reminisce, I went back and found nursery pictures from the girls’ rooms.  It’s fun to see how different this same furniture looks in all of their different rooms. It’s crazy to think that Grayson is the 5th baby to use this crib.  We bought this set from our dear friends the Malpasses before we were ever pregnant.  Their two babies Halle and Keaton both used the furniture before our kids!  Sweet memories! You can reminisce too if you have time!  Click here for Emmie’s nursery and here for Addie’s nursery.  Can’t believe this is our last time to do a baby room!  It’s sad and exciting at the same time! ;)  I’m looking forward to having big kids, but it sure is sweet having these babies in the house.

Halloween 2013

Halloween is a bit of a blur this year because of the fact that Grayson was only a few weeks old!  As I was cleaning off my memory stick earlier this week I realized I never blogged our first Halloween with three kids!  Because this blog is my baby book,  I cannot let it just go!  So please excuse the fact that it’s February and I am just making this post! In this weird sort of way it feels like it was just yesterday.  It’s been a little crazy around here friends!

Addie dressed up as a mermaid (big surprise!!) because this year she was totally into all things Ariel.  We thought it would be fun for Emmie to be her little fishy friend.  My mom found this adorable fishy costume in Oregon and shipped it to us.  She was really cute waddling around in it.  Grayson was Mickey Mouse (thanks to Carol for getting a costume for him!!)

My sweet friend Megan sent the kids trick or treat bags with their names on them, so that was a super special treat.  Nana and Leelee came over to take the kids door to door with Daddy, as they love to do each year.  Bubbie was staying with us for the week helping us transition so she snuggled Grayson and I took a bubble bath! :)

Halloween was fun this year, but I know it will continue to get even more fun in the years to come!
