Addison Berkley

Since I have not been the best at blogging lately I decided to do a little update on both girls just so that I will remember in years to come what they were up to at this time.  I am starting with my first born, Addie B.

Addie is 4 years, 2 months.

She is growing up before my very eyes!  I have really noticed a jump in her maturity lately.  She is so smart and catches me off guard all the time!  She is a picky eater, loves her princesses, dances and sings all the time, is very dramatic and very loving.  She has a will like nothing I’ve ever seen and loves to see just how far she can push.  But she’s also so much fun to be around.  She loves to memorize one liners from movies and say them.  Lately she says, “Rapunzel….let down your hair!” In her best English evil mother voice and it cracks me up every time.  She is a little fish and LOVES the pool…she took her refresher course in May and is swimming and floating like a pro!  She is hungry ALL THE TIME.  She is the BEST big sister and asks me daily when Emmie will be “BIG” enough to be her best friend. She also really “gets” the baby coming…and kisses my tummy often.  She’ll say, “Baby, when are you coming out!?”  She insists the baby will be a girl!    She loves to go up to her room and play with her doll house and princess castle ..and will disappear for an hour or better sometimes just playing alone in her room.  She loves to play any type of match game and is VERY good at it.. I do  not let her win but she beats me all the time.  Addie LIVES to go!  She can’t go to sleep at night with out knowing what our plans are for the next day.  She delights my heart!  I can’t believe she only has one more year before she’ll be in kindergarten!  She seems bigger to me every day.  Lately she tells me what she’d be “most comfortable with” and it makes me giggle.  She is my challenge and my reward!  I love her with all of my heart!

Emmie is 17 months.

She is a sweet, spunky little thing!  I just adore her and have a hard time leaving her!  She is into EVERYTHING!  I cannot turn my back for even 1 second or she has gotten into something she shouldn’t have.  She is a great eater and will devour ALMOST anything you put in front of her.  She is walking all over the place and exploring every nook and cranny of our new home.  She is curious and happy and feisty.  If you tell her no she cries really hard like you hurt her feelings.  She is learning all of her signs and communicates with us using her hands…I just love it! Emmie has a handful of words but she does not use them.  She was using them about 6 weeks ago but not now.  It’s really hard to get her to talk!  She is wearing 18 month clothing and sleeps 12 solid hours at night.  She normally goes to bed around 7:30 or 8 and sometimes I have to go in and wake her up at 9! She has recently dropped her morning nap and is only taking one nap a day!  She LOVES books that have things to touch in them or flaps to lift.  She also loves to be naked and runs from us when we strip her down for bath time.  She barely has enough hair for a pony tail but I manage to gather enough to have a place for a little bow.  We all adore her so much!!!!  Love you Emmie C!

PS!  Thank you to my sweet friends Kelly and Carrie for these sweet pictures!

4 + 1 = 5!

Well, I know this post is a little late but I wanted to share some exciting news!  This family of FOUR…

will be a family of FIVE in October!

We are very excited and were very surprised by this news!  Brandon and I had been praying since we had Emmie about whether or not to have a third baby.  I think we both had the desire in our hearts to have another child but the fear of the financial responsibility as well as just the daily grind of adding another tiny human was overwhelming.  In February I attended a women’s conference at my church and listened to a dynamic pastor, Lisa Bevere speak on being a lioness for our our family.  I have never felt this before, but I felt God speak to my heart in a way I cannot describe….I felt Him say, “Michelle, why are you so afraid?  I put this desire in your heart…quit running.”  I felt like I finally had my answer!  I couldn’t wait to share with Brandon. Well just a couple of days later I realized I had reason to take a pregnancy test…and BAM!  I was already pregnant.  So, I guess God must have giggled to himself.  We were very surprised and could not believe that an unplanned pregnancy could happen to us!  But I guess when it’s God’s plan, it’s going to happen one way or another right?

I am almost 20 weeks and feeling great!  I had about 16 weeks of intense sickness with this pregnancy…(just like Emmie Claire!)  But now I’m feeling much better.  We are 100% sure that this is our last pregnancy, so when I feel those sweet little kicks I am trying to savor the feeling.  We are due November 1st but since I will deliver 1 week early, I’m saying October!

Oh, and one more thing…

we are waiting to find out the gender!

It might make me crazy in the process but I think it will be super duper fun on the day of delivery!!!!
