Life is Good!

My first homemade basil-pine nut-Parmesan-pesto...served on a toasted bun with grilled chicken and grated Parmesan cheese.....
....This dish is only possible because of my wonderful hubby!!!! Thank you Brandon for the beautiful new machine that now adorns my kitchen counter!!!!! We celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary last week and we don't usually do gifts. He totally surprised me and came home with this food processor which I have secretly wished for the entire 8 years we have been married! When we got married, I registered for a 1.5 cup mini-food processor. I have used it for many recipes, but I have to do the processing in portions, dump out, process more, etc. I was so surprised and excited!!! He said the "modern gift" for the 8th anniversary is an appliance! Who knew!!?? Everything on this week's menu requires a food processor! Thanks B! I love you!!! I look forward to the next 50 years with you!

Isn't it pretty!?....Here are some photos of our latest happenings...
Addie's new favorite place is the park!

We were invited to a super fun playdate with Jen, Grady, Jett, Jolene, and Henry last week...Addie loved playing with their cars!
This is what Addie does when her daddy gets home from work each day.... Ok, this may seem silly but I am so excited about Addie's first art work! She "made" this palm in Sunday School this weekend for Palm Sunday. I found this in the bottom of the trash Sunday night! HELLO!! This is big time!

Chillin' in her new big girl seat...thanks to a sweet family in my class this year that handed this down to us...

Saturday we were lucky to spend time with one of our favorite people in the whole world! Sharon! We love you!

When I was pregnant, my sweet friend Chani gave Addie this outfit and I keep forgetting to take pictures every time she wears it. Since it snowed a few weekends ago, I thought it might be her last chance to wear it so she wore it to church and lifegroup! I had to get a few shots of her in it...I think it makes her look like such a big girl! Thank you Chani!

Friday night I had A BLAST with my friends from work at a wine-tasting! There is nothing like a group of teachers relaxing after a long week on a Friday night! The picture below is TERRIBLE of me, but because the other two ladies look amazing, I had to post it....and also just to say what great friends Tonya and Chani are to me. I love these two girls so much! I am going to miss being with them every day more than I can even put into words.....We seriously have a dream team!

This Smile Melts My Heart

We had pictures taken of Addie last week for her upcoming first birthday. I just had to have this precious smile captured one more time before she turns one! My friend Amanda's sister, Chrissy took these pictures at her home. I am absolutely IN LOVE with how they turned out! She really captured some of the precious faces my little girl makes. It was a beautiful spring day and we had so much fun making Addie giggle for these shots! These are just a few of my personal favorites.....By the way, if you are interested in having Chrissy take pictures for you, you can reach her at chrissy_pomeroy@yahoo.com

Spring Break!

Our Visit to Grandma Cece and Grandpa Skip's House....
We had a wonderful spring break! We went to Oregon to see my mom and Skip and visit their new home. It was so much fun! The house they are living in is beautiful! Here is a (TINY) picture of the house. We are so excited to see all that God has in store for them in this new position as house parents. We enjoyed our time so much! Addie was amazing on the trip there and back. When we arrived in Portland we didn't get to bed till almost 3 am. She was still laughing and smiling. She made us so proud!!! Over the time we were there, we did many fun things; these are just a few moments I got pictures of....

On Monday we took the train to downtown Portland to eat at a yummy restaurant on the water. This was Addie's first time on a train...she wasn't sure what to think!
Walking along the shoreline...
We took Addie to their church on Sunday and she enjoyed this walker toy in the nursery!Addie with Grandma Cece, Tareka, and Tanisha...
The day we came home was St. Patrick's Day so Addie sported her "Daddy's Lucky Charm" shirt and shamrock leggings...St. Patty's Day outfit #2 from Aunt Lindsey..... :-) She wore this on the way TO Portland!!New favorite trick....
On Thursday Aunt Jess and Uncle Marcus came from New Mexico to stay with us. We had so much fun having them here!
Then on Friday night Addie and I had dinner with some of my Zeta girls at PF Chang's and we got to meet lots of new babies! Bubbie came and picked Addie up to play while we had dinner.
It has been a great spring break! The countdown is on till the end of the year...2.5 months! Woo hoo!

A Photograph of Faith....

Doesn't this picture make you smile? Is this not one of the warmest, kindest, smiles you've ever seen? Meet my friend Alyson. She is a wonderful person! To me, this is a photo of patience. Of hope. Of FAITH. You see, Alyson has wanted to be a mom for many years and has endured many, many painful trials along her journey. Well, praise God, she is on her way!!!! I seriously could NOT be more excited for you Alyson and Justin!!! I am praying for you and your baby and the next nine months! We love you guys so much! You can check out more of their story by clicking here.

Great Granny and Great Papa

We were so blessed to have my Granny and Papa come in from Houston this weekend to stay with us! Addie had a great time with her great grandparents! Here are a few pictures from our weekend:

This little girl has some serious bed head in the mornings....below you can catch a glimpse for yourself!

Playing with Papa's hat.....

Papa gave Addie her first taste of icecream...she is a fan!

Granny found the coolest Easter basket for Addie...just for babies her age! It had lots of fun toys that Addie enjoyed playing with all weekend! Thank you Easter Bunny! (and Papa too!)

Thank you for everything you both did for us this weekend! We love you guys!

Kyank Kyou

Addie has some new tricks! She now says "Uh Ohhhhh" and "Thank you." Thank you sounds more like Kyank Kyou, but it melts my heart none the less. She also loves to do this: LOOK MA! No hands!

You may be wondering, "What's all that clutter on Michelle's counter?" Well, that's all of my nursing gear. Yep, that's right. We are officially done. This past week we had our last official nursing time. sniff sniff. I cried a little just because I was sad that this time is over. But I can honestly say that nursing Addie is the one thing in my life I am the most proud of doing. It was seriously the most challenging thing I have ever done but the most rewarding and looking back I am glad I stuck with it--through all of the ups and downs. It's a personal decision that we all have to make based on our babies and our lives....and I respect each and every mom for her choice. I wasn't breastfed and I turned out ok...well I guess that's debatable. :-) My mom did what was right for her at that time and I love her for it! I am however, beside myself with joy to pack all of the goodies up in the picture above!!

And the last picture....well...in our house we are counting down and getting excited!!!!
ps..read below for another new post I made tonight!
