I'm Back!!

So, I guess it’s about time I post a blog entry! Crazy two weeks to say the least! We are makin’ it! I have to say that it hasn’t been as bad as I anticipated. I am enjoying my new class and loving being with adults again. Addie is doing GREAT at Ms. Courtney’s. We could not have asked for a better situation for her. I don’t worry about her for a second during the day. I do miss her like crazy and have had a few crying episodes, but for the most part, I have done good. We had a hard start to this week because for some reason Monday was a hard day for Addie. She cried a lot and didn’t want to eat or nap. Then Monday night was really hard on her….it took us 2 ½ hours to get her down to sleep. So, Tuesday we let her sleep a little later and Brandon took her to Courtney’s a little late and went into work after that. That was hard on me because I didn’t get to see her that morning. But after that little hiccup, things went better the rest of the week. I am learning how to balance it all….I am so very type A, that I am going to have to not put so much pressure on myself. I am learning to be a good wife, a good mom, a good teacher, a good colleague, a good friend, a good daughter, a good neighbor....all at the same time. I am learning, and have been reassured by so many friends that it gets easier with time. I think one of the biggest challenges for me this week was figuring out how to pump my milk and still run a happy, structured third grade classroom. All of the sneaking out didn’t serve my kids well. I am working on that and tried a new plan Friday that might solve my problem, though! Addie’s new favorite thing in the world is her Jumparoo, that Lizzy gave her. You can check out her jumpin skills in the little video below. We have had so much fun this weekend with her. She is laughing and playing and growing so much. Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks. I am going to try to blog on the weekends from now on! Have a great week! Love to all!

We started Rice Cereal! She likes it sometimes, but other times not so much!

Also, we are excited to report that Addie is completely SWADDLE BROKEN! Hooray!!!

Last Official Day of Summer :-(

I am coming to you from a funk. It's my last day of summer, my last day of maternity leave, my last day of being a SAHM. (Stay at home mom....) I have such mixed emotions. I feel completely split in half. Half of me wishes I could be home with her every day, play the days away, watch her every development, relish in her every little move .... resisting the fact that time goes way too fast. The other half of me is thrilled to resume my post in a third grade classroom, to carry out a profession that truly calls my heart. You see, I love, love, love third graders and I truly enjoy going to work. But my love for this baby trumps that by a million miles! This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made...and although I feel in my heart that we have made the right decision for our family, I know it's going to be hard. I am thankful to have such an incredible team of close girlfriends to return to, a supportive principal, and a fun staff full of people who truly care about me. I am thankful BEYOND words to have Courtney to watch Addie during the day. But I am going to miss her so much. Someone told me when I was pregnant to get ready for my heart to beat outside of my body. That is just the tip of the iceberg! I bought a magnet when we went to Oregon in June. It says, "Choose with no regrets...." I have chosen. Will you pray for us next week? I know Addie will be fine. I know I will be fine. And I know that God has a special group of 8 and 9 year olds that He has handpicked for me. I have a go and make a difference for those kids, to sometimes be the only hug some of them receive in their here I go.....

My Happy Heart

We have been blessed! We have found the most wonderful, sweet, caring lady to watch Addie while we are at work! She was referred to us by two different friends at two different times and they know her in two totally different ways. Can you say MEANT TO BE!? Her name is Courtney and we already LOVE her! She has a 6 week old baby girl named Evie, and has chosen to be a stay at home mom. But she wanted to keep one baby in addition to having her daughter, so Addie is going to be staying with her! Many of you know that my prayer all along has been that if God has an in home care situation for us, that He would make it so clear. I had a daycare solution, but I really wanted in-home care for at least her first year. One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I feel like this whole situation with Courtney was a part of His incredible plan all along, and just so that I would rely on Him, I had to wait until 2 weeks before I went back to work to see it! We took her part time today and yesterday and it went GREAT! Addie already loves her little friend, Evie. Courtney took these pictures....I just love them. My heart is so happy. She borrowed a bouncy seat and swing from a friend so that Addie could have a spot to hang with Evie. I think that is so sweet!! ps--notice the cocker spaniel??? :-)

Look at how peaceful she is....

PS--Notice her first day of care away from Mommy shirt? It says "I love Mommy and Mommy loves me." Man...if she only knew how fierce my love for her is. :-) Good night!

Busy Days of Summer

Our busy summer days have almost come to an end. We have one week left and Mommy is getting sad! Here's a little glimpse at what we have been up to the last few weeks. (We've been busy!)

Brandon's Aunt Lonnie who lives in Colorado, made Addie a dedication gown. Sadly, she is not going to be able to wear it for her dedication, because that is not until November and it fits her now. It's already a little small. I took a picture of her in it to send to Aunt Lonnie. It's so beautiful! She also sent a dress that belonged to her daughter when she was a baby. I took a picture of her in it. I love Addison in yellow.

This is my cousin, Alyssa and her boyfriend Dustin. They came to stay with us last weekend and Brandon went with them to an FC Dallas Soccer game. Alyssa loved Addie.

Grandma Cece sent Addie this outfit and I think it's so cute on her!
These are our neighbors that I always talk about, Rhonda and Lizzy. Laken was with a friend, but Rhonda and Lizzy came to see us yesterday.

So I am happy to report that Addie has graduated from needing the Moses basket! Bumper pads are back in and we are currently weaning her off the swaddle. Notice the one arm out? I read on line that this is a way to slowly break the swaddle. Start with one arm out, then another, then legs....I think she is so sweet all burrito wrapped up, with one arm hanging out over her head.
Last weekend Addie and I had dinner at my friends' house. Last summer I was a nanny to two precious little girls. We went to their house for dinner and all of the little girls they play with came over to see Addie. She had her own little fan club of big girls!
Last Friday I had training, so Bubbee and Poppee and Uncle Thomas came and stayed with Addie. I think they all had a really good time together!
This is her new favorite thing....she has always loved her playgym, but now she is learning to pull on the toys and shake the rattles . She has so much fun!
A few weeks ago, we went to my dad's office and he showed Addison off to all of his coworkers. It was so cute!
We also got to have lunch with Aunt Lindsey! Lindsey is Brandon's sister. Addie just loves her Aunt Lindsey to pieces!
We have had so much fun buzzing around town, seeing people we love. Addie is growing so much. She is more and more fun every day! Love to all!

Addie's 4 Month Photo Shoot!

Today my friend Sharon and I took Addie to have four month pictures made at Kiddie Kandids. I am so in love with how they turned out! Ignore my hand...they were magically erased for the prints! Thank you Sharon for all of your help!!!

Happy 4 Month Birthday, Baby Girl!

I cannot believe today is Addie's four month birthday! Where has the time gone? She is amazing and wonderful in every way. We continue to be amazed by her. She is so much fun and becoming more and more interactive every single day. Today we took her to the doctor, where she received all A+'s on her checkup. She is 13.5 pounds, and 24 inches long. This keeps her in the 50th percentile for weight and height. The doctor said we can start rice cereal at any time. I can't wait!! He also said to stop swaddling her. Boo! She does not sleep unless she's swaddled. He said the first few nights will be rough, but after that she will adjust. I finally figured out how to put videos on here, so I have posted two short ones below. Enjoy!
