Sweet, Sweet Baby Girl

Last week we enjoyed the beautiful weather on Wednesday by meeting Jen, Grady, Jeanette, and Luke at the park in our neighborhood. We walked and talked and had a picnic lunch. Can you see Addie in her stroller? She slept through the whole outing, but Mom sure had fun!
On Saturday Auntie Hilly came to see us. It was so much fun!

Such a sweet girl...

This was during tummy time on Saturday morning. Daddy tried really hard, but Addie was too sleepy...she kept falling asleep.

And some exciting news! Addie is now sleeping in her own room! What a big girl! These were some pictures from her first few naps in there. She looks so tiny in that big ol' bed! She is averaging 7-8 hours a night at one time. We are so happy!!!!!

Busy Bee Addie B :-)

We have been so busy over the last few weeks! Addie is growing and changing every single day. We have had lots of playdates and lots of fashion shows. We are getting closer to the 8 week mark when we can start taking her out in public (as per our Dr.). So, here are some pictures of our big 6 WEEK OLD having fun with Mommy and friends.....Love to you all! Mommy thought this outfit was so cute! This is my friend Claire. She is 12 weeks old. Her mommy is the speech teacher at mommy's school.
This is my BFF Riley. We were born 2 weeks apart and we hang out every Thursday. Her mommy teaches across the hall from my mommy.
This was a cute dress mommy put me in.

On Friday I got to meet my Granny Sue and Papa Glen from Kansas. (Right before they showed up I had a blowout and ruined my this was outfit number 2 for the day!!)

Not such a big fan of tummy time just yet, but Mommy keeps trying!

I am starting to smile! Pretty in pink!

These are mommy's two wonderful teammates from school, Chani and Tonya. They LOVE Addie B and get so excited to come hold her. These are two of the most fun and sweet people you will ever meet!!
Everyone says I look like Daddy...Mommy is holding out hope that I will look a little bit like her. But even if I don't we think Daddy is pretty cute, so we'll be ok.

This is my sweet neighbor friend, Lizzy. Lizzy always says, "Baby, Baby!!!"

This is my boyfriend, Grady Mac. He is so much fun to play with!

At one of Mommy's showers, everyone wrote on diapers to encourage us as we have late night changings. (Great idea Auntie Hilly!!) I liked this says Mommy, I love you. Love, Addie

One of Mommy's students, Caydee gave me this cute outfit.

This is my other boyfriend, Luke. He was born 1 week before me. We go to church with Luke. He likes to hold my hand. :-)

On Sunday, Daddy got me dressed to take me on a walk. This is what he put me in. So cute!

Saturday night I met my friends Ansley, Ella, and Ava. When we went to Fellowship, we were in Hometeams with their parents. We LOVE these little girls so much!!!!

Saturday Uncle Thomas held me for the first time. He was nervous when I was really little, but he was a pro holding me. I love him!

My First Mother's Day--now with pics!

Today was wonderful in every way! I enjoyed my baby girl so much. I looked into her eyes this afternoon and told her the story of how badly I have wanted her for so long. I told her about the Mother's Days when I have prayed I would be a mommy soon. I received a sweet gift from her. Brandon took a picture of her with a sign that said "I love Mom" and framed it for me, he framed a family picture in a frame that says "All Because Two People Fell in Love," and he also treated me to a mani/pedi yesterday. Also, on Saturday night our friend Carol (Auntie M) watched Addie so Brandon could take me to dinner for Mother's Day. We had a wonderful time together. Now, I want to put a poem I received from a dear friend today that pretty much sums up how I feel about being Addie's mom. God has TRULY blessed my life with this sweet little baby girl.

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.Chewed on.Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew how much I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy,the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,before I was a Mom.
I wanted to share this pic....She starts way up a the top of this sleep positioner. Her legs go between the two humps. We swaddle her up really tight. When I went to pick her up this morning, she had worked her way all the way down and had her swaddle around the back of her head..I thought she looked like baby Moses!

Doctor, Doctor, Give Me the News!

Today we went for Addison's one month check up! Wow! How a month flies by! We received a great report. She is now 9 lbs! Wow! Remember, she was 7.5 pounds at birth. He is happy with her growth. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and height. He said her baby acne is normal and will go away with time. We talked about her frequent spitting up lately and more fussiness. She even spit up right on Daddy's work shirt while were in the doctor's office, so Dr. G got to see what we are talking about. (Sorry Daddy, but that worked out well!) He is thinking she might have a little bit of reflux. So, we are going to omit some things from my diet and wait a little while to see if there is an improvement. He was pleased with how much she is eating and growing. He said we should be singing to her and reading to her now during her wake times, to help develop her cognitive abilities. (I am not sure he has heard either of us sing or he might not have suggested that...ha ha!) He also said we have so much to look forward to in the next month...that she will start smiling and flirting back with us. I was very emotional (big surprise!) about it being her one month...but held it together! yay!

Also, we had a wonderful weekend with our dear friends Marcus and Jessica, who flew in from Albuquerque to meet little Addie. It was great to see them and introduce them to our precious little angel! Pictures are below...

Here is a shot of Daddy when he got home from work today reading to Addie...just following Dr.'s orders! :-)Aunt Jess loves Baby Addison!Daddy likes to burp Addie like this...he says it makes her burp BIG!Addie looks so tiny with Uncle Marcus!
Chillin' in her SPA robe from Grandma Cece after a (very stressful) bath. She hates bath time! Maybe it's because Mommy gets the water too cold for fear of it being to hot! We're working on that!

Finally, we received Addie's proofs today from her photo shoot when she was 2 weeks old. If you click on the link below, you can check out the photos! :-) So sweet!
